Police contacted a "person of interest" who used LinkedIn and had been in touch with Missy. The communication began in January 2016 and continued until she died. The messages began in a casual manner but"ultimately turned flirtatious and familiar." Police had to establish who the person was on the footage. The person in the footage appeared to also have a pry bar and at one point, they were holding a white rectangular box.
However, the second search warrant issued by the police turned up multiple devices that contained child pornography. On the 18th of April 2016, while getting ready to teach a fitness class at a local church, Terri “Missy” Bevers was murdered by an unknown assailant. In the video footage, the suspect can be seen carrying some sort of tool police believe was used to gain access to the church. Police have yet to rule out the possibility Bevers was targeted by her killer.
